How We Actually Review a Mobile RPG
People sometimes ask how long we play a game before writing about it. The honest answer: as long as it takes to have a real opinion. For an RPG, that usually means several hours minimum, often more.
We start by ignoring the marketing entirely. What matters is how the first hour feels, whether the leveling is satisfying, and if the story gives us a reason to keep going. Combat depth is a big one — we test the same fights with different builds to see if choices matter.
Then we look at the mobile-specific stuff. Does it drain your battery? Are sessions a reasonable length? Do the controls fight you? A brilliant RPG with awful touch controls is still an awful phone experience.
Only after all that do we settle on a score. And we argue about it. A lot. The number you see is usually the result of three people disagreeing until we land somewhere honest.
